Product Add-ons and Variants: What’s the Difference?

< 1 min read

Table of Contents

When adding or editing a product, you may see two settings under Product Variations & Add-ons:

  1. Product Add-ons
  2. Product Variants

Both are used when your product has choices, but they work differently.

Important: You can only use one type at a time for each product.

This means you need to choose either Product Options or Product Variants, depending on how your product should be sold.

Which one should I choose? #

Use Product Add-on if the customer is buying the same product but may want to add extra items or services.

Use Product Variants if the product itself comes in different versions such as size, colour, type, or material.
