How to Set Up Birthday Rewards

Birthday Rewards allows merchants to give extra rewards to customers during their birthday period.

With this feature, customers can earn extra cashback or extra points when they make a purchase during their birthday month. This helps merchants create a more personal shopping experience and encourage customers to return and purchase again.

For example, if a customer usually earns 1x points, the merchant can set the birthday reward for example 2x points so the customer earns double points during their birthday month.

Why Use Birthday Rewards? #

Birthday Rewards is a simple way to appreciate your customers and encourage repeat purchases.

Customers are more likely to make a purchase when they feel rewarded, especially during special occasions such as their birthday.

This feature can help merchants:

  • Encourage customers to shop during their birthday month
  • Increase customer retention
  • Build stronger customer relationships
  • Make the loyalty program feel more personal
  • Give customers a reason to come back and purchase again
Example Scenario #
  • A customer’s birthday is on 21 November.
  • If the merchant enables Eligible for the whole birth month, the customer can enjoy Birthday Rewards anytime during November.
  • For example, if the merchant sets the Points Multiplier to 2.00, the customer will receive double points during the eligible birthday period.
  • If the merchant sets the Cashback Multiplier to 2.00, the customer will receive double cashback during the eligible birthday period.
  • The multiplier amount depends on the merchant’s own reward strategy and business margin.
How to Set Up Birthday Rewards #

From your admin dashboard, go to Loyalty Program

Look for the Birthday Reward section.

Step 2: Enable Birthday Rewards #

Step 3: Set the Cashback Multiplier #

This controls how many times the normal cashback your customer will receive during their eligible birthday period.

The customer receives the usual cashback amount only.
  • 2.00 = Double cashback
The customer receives 2 times the normal cashback.
  • 3.00 = Triple cashback
The customer receives 3 times the normal cashback.

For example, if the normal cashback is RM5 and the Cashback Multiplier is set to 2.00, the customer will receive RM10 cashback.

Set the Points Multiplier.

This controls how many times the normal points your customer will receive during their eligible birthday period.

  • 2.00 = Double points
The customer receives 2 times the normal points.

For example, if the customer normally earns 10 points and the Points Multiplier is set to 2.00, the customer will receive 20 points.

This is recommended because it gives customers more time to make a purchase.

Step 5: Enable Eligible for the Whole Birth Month #

Turn on Eligible for the whole birth month if you want customers to enjoy the reward throughout their birthday month.

Example:

Customer’s birthday: 21 November

This gives customers more time to place an order and enjoy their birthday rewards.

If this setting is turned off, the birthday reward may only apply based on the customer’s birthday date.

Notes #
  • Birthday Rewards will only work when the customer has added their Date of Birth in their account profile.
  • Customers can update their date of birth from their account settings.
  • Points will only be rewarded when the order is set to Completed and Paid.
  • If the customer does not have a date of birth in their profile, the system may not be able to identify their birthday reward eligibility.
