Custom Shipping Profile allows you to create a specific shipping rate for selected products.
This is useful when certain products require different shipping charges from your normal store shipping rate. For example, frozen items, bulky products, fragile items, or products that need special delivery handling.
Products assigned to a custom shipping profile will follow the shipping method and rates set in that profile. Products that are not assigned to any custom profile will continue to use the Store Default Profile.
How to Create a Custom Shipping Profile #
- From your admin dashboard, go to Shipping.
- Under Shipping Profiles, click Add Custom Profile.
- Enter the Profile Name. Use a clear name that helps you identify this custom profile easily, such as Fresh Cakes, Frozen Items, Bulky Products, or Fragile Items. This makes it easier to manage shipping rates for specific product groups.
Example:
Fresh Cakes, Frozen Items, Bulky Products, or Fragile Items - Make sure the profile status is set to Active if you want customers to use this shipping option during checkout.
- Under Shipping Method & Rates, select the shipping method that you want to use for this custom profile.
Similar to the Store Default Profile, you can choose one of the available shipping methods:
- Flat Rate
- Auto Calculation by State
- Distance / Weight
- Postcode / Weight
- Set the shipping rates based on the selected shipping method.
- Under Assign Products, click Add Products.
- Select the products that should use this custom shipping profile.
- Click Create Profile to save.
