How to Create an Order Discount

Order Discount allows you to give a discount based on the customer’s total order amount at checkout.

This promotion is useful when you want to encourage customers to spend more, reward selected customers, or run a storewide campaign without applying discounts to individual products one by one.

For example, you can create an order discount where customers get RM350 off when their cart subtotal reaches RM800 and above. When the customer’s cart meets the minimum subtotal requirement, the discount will be applied to their order during

After seeing how the discount appears during checkout, follow the steps below to create your own order discount.

Step 1: Go to Order Discount #

From your admin dashboard, go to the Promotion section.

Select Order Discount.

You will see the Order Discount listing page. This page shows all order discounts that have been created, including active, inactive, and archived promotions.

Click + Create to create a new order discount.

Step 2: Choose How Customers Receive the Discount #

Under Method, choose how customers can receive this order discount.

You can select either:

  • Discount Code : Choose this if you want customers to enter a promo code at checkout.
    Example : RAYA10
  • Automatic Discount : Choose this if you want the discount to apply automatically when the cart meets the conditions.
    Example : Spend RM100 and get 10% off automatically.

Suggestion:
Use Discount Code if you want to promote a specific code to customers.
Use Automatic Discount if you want the system to apply the discount without requiring customers to enter any code.

Step 3: Enter the Promotion Title and Description #

Fill in the promotion details.

In Promotion / Discount Title, enter a clear title for your campaign.
Example: Raya Sale — 10% Off All Orders

In Promotion / Discount Description, describe what the promotion is about.
Example: Enjoy 10% off your order when you spend RM100 and above. Valid for a limited time only.

Make sure the promotion is set to Enabled if you want the discount to be active.

Step 4: Enter the Discount Code #

Only for Discount Code method

If you selected Discount Code, enter the promo code that customers need to use at checkout.

Example: RAYA10

You can also click Generate to create a random discount code.

Customers must enter this code during checkout before the discount can be applied.

Step 5: Choose the Discount Type #

Next, choose the type of order discount you want to offer.

There are three discount types available:

Percentage off subtotal
– Use this if you want to give a percentage discount based on the cart subtotal. Example: 10% off cart subtotal
– You can also set a Max discount cap to limit the maximum discount amount. Example: 10% off, capped at RM50.
– This means the customer can receive 10% discount, but the maximum discount given will not exceed RM50.

Fixed amount off subtotal
– Use this if you want to give a fixed discount amount. Example: RM20 off cart subtotal
– This means RM20 will be deducted from the customer’s order subtotal.

Tiered discount
– Use this if you want to reward customers based on how much they spend.
– Example: Spend RM100 and get 5% off | Spend RM250 and get 10% off
– Only the highest qualifying tier will apply. The tiers will not stack.

Step 6: Set the Discount Value #

After choosing the discount type, enter the discount value.

  • For Percentage off subtotal, enter the percentage amount.
    Example: Discount value: 10% Optional
    Max discount cap: RM50
  • For Fixed amount off subtotal, enter the fixed amount.
    Example: Discount value: RM20
  • For Tiered discount, enter the spending condition and discount for each tier.
    Example:Spend RM100 → get 5% off
    Spend RM250 → get 10% off

Click + Add tier if you want to add more tiers.

Step 7: Choose Whether to Exclude Products #

Under Exclude products, choose whether any products should be excluded from this order discount.

You can select:

No exclusions
The discount applies to the full cart subtotal.

Exclude specific products
Selected products will not receive this discount or count toward the subtotal.

This is useful if you want to exclude items such as gift cards, clearance products, or products that already have another discount.

Step 8: Set Minimum Requirements #

Under Minimum requirements, choose when this discount should apply.

You can select:

No minimum
The discount applies to every order.

Minimum subtotal
The discount only applies when the cart subtotal reaches a certain amount.
Example: Minimum subtotal: RM100
This means customers must spend at least RM100 before the order discount can be applied.

Step 9: Choose Customer Eligibility #

Under Customer eligibility, choose who can use this discount.

You can select:

Everyone
All customers can use the discount, including guest customers.

Members only
Only logged-in customers with a registered account can use the discount.

Specific customer segments
Only selected customer groups can use the discount.
For specific customer segments, you can choose segments such as:

  • Customers who never made a purchase
  • Customers who haven’t purchased recently

This is useful if you want to target new customers or win back inactive customers.

Step 10: Set the Promotion Validity Date #

Set the promotion start and end date, The discount will only be available within the selected date range.

Step 11: Set Promotion Combinations #

Under Combinations, choose whether this order discount can be combined with other promotions.

You can allow it to stack with:

Product-scope promotions
This allows Product Discount, Bundle, or Flash Sale promotions to apply together with this order discount.

Shipping discounts
This allows Free Shipping promotions to apply together with this order discount.

If you do not want this order discount to combine with other promotions, leave the options unticked.

Important note:

If you allow combinations, always test the checkout flow from your storefront to make sure the final total is correct.

Step 12: Save the Order Discount #

After completing all the settings, click Save Order Discount.

Once saved, the order discount will be available based on the method, conditions, customer eligibility, and date range you have set.

If you selected Discount Code, customers must enter the code during checkout.

If you selected Automatic Discount, the system will apply the discount automatically when the cart meets the conditions.

  • You can return to the Order Discount page anytime to view, edit, disable, or archive your promotions.
  • Before sharing the promotion with customers, it is recommended to test the discount on your storefront to make sure it works as expected.
