Promotions help you create better offers for your customers and support different business goals, such as increasing sales, clearing slow-moving stock, encouraging customers to buy more, or reducing checkout hesitation.
There are 6 types of promotions available:
Each promotion is designed for a different purpose.
Before creating a promotion, you should first decide what you want to achieve from your campaign.
Which Promotion Should You Use? #
Simple Product Discount #
Use this when you want to give a direct discount for selected products.
This is suitable if you want to make a product look more attractive to customers by showing a lower price, percentage discount, or special offer price.
Example: If you have a product priced at RM50 and want to offer it at RM39, you can use Simple Product Discount.
This is useful for:
- Promoting selected products
- Highlighting new items
- Giving a simple discount without affecting the whole order
- Encouraging customers to buy a specific product
Common questions:
- How do I create a discount for selected products only?
- Can I set a percentage discount, fixed amount discount, or special price for a product?
- Can I apply the same product discount to multiple products or categories?
Order Discount #
Use this when you want to encourage customers to spend more in one order.
Order Discount applies to the customer’s cart subtotal. This is suitable when you want to increase the average order value by giving a discount only when customers reach a certain spending amount.
Example: If you want customers to spend at least RM100, you can create an offer such as “Spend RM100 and get 10% off”.
This is useful for:
- Encouraging customers to add more items to cart
- Increasing average order value
- Rewarding customers who spend more
- Running spend-more-save-more campaigns
Common questions:
- How do I create a discount based on the customer’s cart subtotal?
- Can I set a minimum purchase amount before the order discount applies?
- Can I create a spend-more-save-more discount, such as “Spend RM100 and get 10% off”?
Item Purchase Limit #
Use this when you want to limit how many units a customer can buy.
This is suitable for limited stock, exclusive items, high-demand products, or promotional items where you do not want one customer to purchase too many units.
Example: If you are selling a limited edition cake and only want each customer to buy a maximum of 2 units, you can set an Item Purchase Limit.
This is useful for:
- Controlling limited stock
- Avoiding overselling
- Giving fair purchase access to more customers
- Managing exclusive or high-demand products
Common questions:
- How do I limit the quantity a customer can buy for a product?
- Can I set a maximum purchase limit for selected products only?
- What happens if the customer tries to add more than the allowed quantity?
Bundle Promotions #
Use this when you want customers to buy multiple products together as a set.
Bundle Promotions are suitable when you want to combine products and sell them at a special bundle price. This can also help move slow-moving products by pairing them with popular products.
Example: If Product A is slow-moving but Product B sells well, you can create a bundle promotion that combines Product A + Product B at a special price.
This helps make the slow-moving product sell faster while still giving customers better value.
This is useful for:
- Clearing slow-moving stock
- Increasing quantity per order
- Selling products as a set
- Creating better value offers for customers
- Pairing popular products with less popular products
Common questions:
- How do I create a bundle promotion for multiple products?
- Can I combine slow-moving products with popular products in one bundle?
- Can I set a special bundle price when customers buy selected products together?
Free Shipping #
Use this when you want to reduce customer hesitation during checkout.
Some customers may cancel their order when they see the shipping fee. With Free Shipping, you can encourage them to complete the checkout by waiving the shipping fee when they meet certain conditions.
Example: You can offer free shipping when customers spend RM80 and above.
This is useful for:
- Reducing abandoned checkout
- Encouraging customers to spend more
- Making the final checkout amount more attractive
- Creating a stronger purchase reason
Common questions:
- How do I create a free shipping promotion?
- Can I offer free shipping only when the customer spends a minimum amount?
- Can I apply free shipping to selected products or selected conditions only?
Flash Sales #
Use this when you want to create urgency for a limited-time campaign.
Flash Sales are suitable for short-term promotions, festive campaigns, clearance sales, product launches, or special events. Since the offer is only available for a limited time, it encourages customers to take action faster.
Example: You can run a 24-hour flash sale with up to 50% off selected products.
This is useful for:
- Creating urgency
- Running festive or seasonal campaigns
- Clearing stock within a short period
- Promoting selected products during special events
- Increasing traffic and sales during campaign periods
Common questions:
- How do I create a limited-time promotion or flash sale?
- Can I set a start date and end date for the promotion?
- Can I apply flash sale discounts to selected products only?
